New Gate Solutions for Georgia Ports Authority
CERTUS Automation has been awarded a contract extension with the Georgia Ports Authority to enhance GPA’s terminal operations and help grow its container-handling capabilities. As part of this plan, GPA will expand gate solutions at Garden City Terminal Gates 9 and 10. CERTUS will also supply gate solutions for the new Savannah Transload Facility.
The agreement between GPA and CERTUS is a logical continuation of the successful implementation of Automated gates by CERTUS at Georgia’s ports in the past. The previously delivered gate infrastructure has already led to significant improvements in efficiency, safety and a better overall experience for truck drivers.
“The CERTUS technology expedites each truck gate transaction for superior cargo fluidity,” said GPA Chief Information Officer Bill Sutton. “The result is increased production for motor carriers and for our terminal operation, coupled with a safer environment for workers staffing the gates.”
By partnering with CERTUS, the Authority can continue to upgrade its facilities and make sure Georgia’s ports remain a world-class destination for trade and commerce.
